You have the power to tolerate anyone and any situation. But tolerance is not just suffering in silence. It means going beyond any personal discomfort you may feel, and giving a gift to whom ever you would tolerate. Give your time, attention, understanding, compassion, care - all are gifts, which paradoxically, you also receive in the process of giving. And, as you do, you will experience your own self esteem and inner strength grow. In this way you can turn tolerance into strength.

Day 4 of 12 Week Personal Weight Loss Challenge



Miss Nothing

Being enlightened means being self aware. Awareness of yourself means you don't miss anything inside. You are aware of things like the quality of your thoughts and feelings, of how you sometimes give your power to others, and how your self-esteem occasionally fluctuates. You don't miss anything because you know that knowing yourself is vital to being comfortable with yourself. Are you comfortable with yourself? No! Then be with your self, talk to your self, listen to your self today. Take a few moments out and have a meeting with yourself. Put yourself in your diary. Put your self at the top of your to list. And write next to it, 'being with myself'. Miss nothing in your self.

Update For Today

I need to take my message to heart. It is way past my bedtime and I am just now posting for the day. Got caught up in so many other things.


Had my Monday weigh in - Drum Roll- I am down seven pounds! Yes 7 pounds! To get a real feel for that - I picked up a 5 pound bag of potatos (and no - I did not eat them - ha ha ha)and that really brought it home for me. That bag was heavy! That was inspiration enough for me to keep on keeping on.

I am looking to lose 5% of my starting weight before I start doing physical exercise. I'll start out walking. Already my knees are not hurting as much. Couple the fat lose with my new eating - I must say I am feeling much more energized. Not feeling the overwhelming tiredness I usually feel.

I had lots of techical challenges today - finally sorted it out. Tomorrow I will post pictures. Need to keep it all real. Seeing is believing. I see my new thinner and healthier self so vividly. I see the new me in full color too. Just need my outer to come into alaignment with my inner self - all in due time.

Day 3 of 12 Week Personal Weight Loss Journey



Help Yourself
Unfortunately these two words tend to describe the generally selfish and materialistic culture in which most of us live. They result not in self-help but in dependency. Our education and our role models do not encourage us to help ourselves to grow, change and expand our capacities as human beings. Real self-help means recognising that no one else is responsible for our thoughts and feelings, and that we are only ever victims because we choose to be. Our destiny is always and only in our own hands - despite all apparent evidence which may indicate otherwise. Learning to help ourselves is also a prerequisite to extending a hand of assistance to others. We all need a leg up from time to time, but once there, we are always on our own.

So far so good. My cravings have completely stopped. EFT seems to really working for me. I need to figure out how to upload videos and the like. I LOVE Pepsi Max. Had a bottle in the pantry since Wednesday and it is still there!! Now that is amazing to me. I would have been on my third litre bottle by today.

So here's my show of appreciation and gratitude for the day that is and the Spirit in all of us. Namaste`

I am still getting in my water for the day. I had four cups of ice old water even before I stepped my feet out of the bed this morning. Been drinkng all day. Keeps me satiated and hydrated. I have the whole family eating the same food I am eating. It works on all levels. I am the only one in the family that is fat challenged.

You will notice I regularly talk about losing fat and not weight so much. I have learned to be truthful in my self talk. My intention is to lose fat - excess fat that I am carrying. That is not the same as weight loss.

Yesterday I introduced the notion of drinking cold water, equivalent to half your weight in onces. Today the industry insider secret is to get the body into "Ketosis" -- wherein our body burns and uses its' own fat for fuel.

Prior to having bariatric or weight loss surgery - most clients need to get into ketosis first and lose at least five to ten percent (5% - 10%) of their weight - before even having the surgery!


I mentioned that I am doing a vegan food plan for the next 12 weeks. It will probably take me about 3 days to get into ketosis. I will keep you posted. Lighten up on those carbs and eat and enjoy good protein and green leafy vegetables!

I just finished listening to a tapping session on Blog Talk Radio. Now I need some personal down time.

Day 2 of 12 Week Personal Weight Loss Challenge

A special hello and offering of gratitude to the Universe and Spirit that is me. :)



Peaceful Mind
Fill your mind with peace and good feelings and your mind will give that experience in return. Whatever you are experiencing in your mind now is what you put there earlier on.

Today I have a very peaceful mind and am in a good space. I am tuning into my core self. Pleasantly surprised by the relief I am feeling by acknowledging layers of emotional hurt. It's very liberating indeed.

Okay -- the committment to my fat loss challenge. Having been a vegetarian in the past; I have made a conscious choice to being a vegan vegetarian while I am doing this challenge. So far so good.

It's never about the food. Having worked in the weight loss industry for the past ten years -- I am going to apply some of the industry standards that we usually don't share with our clients. (Particularly if we are selling weight loss products.)We make so much more money selling weight loss suppliments to clients - they really don't work. Sshhh! I didn't say that. :) The real magic to weight loss is to eat less food and burn more calories than we consume. Now that is the simple truth!

Being fat or obese is not as simple as eating less -- hell; if it was, I would have kept the weight off. The missing connection is the emotional healing that needs to take place. Hence 'tapping' or EFT. It's a Spiritual journey or as some say, "It's about a lifestyle change."

One of the insider weight loss secrets is to drink half your weight in onces. So if you weigh 200 pounds - you would drink 100 onces of water per day. Simply put - that would be 13 cups of ice cold water per day. Why? When losing fat - it has to be flushed out of the body. Water does just that - naturally. Why ice cold? It revs up your metabolism.

For the past five years I have been counseling clients prior to bariatric surgery - personally considered having the surgery. Instead, I am going to try using EFT or Tapping and will keep posting my progress. Looking forward to long term success and sharing it with my clients.

Day 1 of Personal 12 Week Weight Loss Challenge Using EFT



Take Time
Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul. Take time to think, it is the source of power. Take time to read, it is the fountain of wisdom. Take time to love and be loved, it is a Spirit-given privilege. Take time to work, it is the price of success.

Today is May 1, 2009 and I am going to put aside any preconceived notions about EFT and embrace "tapping" for my own personal weight loss. I am struggling with keeping my weight off. Truth be spoken - I am carrying to much excess fat.

I will post daily for the next 12 weeks to chronicle my successes with applying this technique. Lost over 130 pounds in the past -- to only regain it. As a Behavioral Psychologist I want to look at my own behaviors relating to the excess fat that I am carrying around.

So here goes my first day at posting.
